About the Artist

Adam Zimmermann, born in 1987, is a visual artist, born and raised in Prague Czech Republic. His Visual Wordcraft Art is represented by his alias @iamrushdog. He is a member of worldwide calligraphy crew called Suprema Caligrafia Crew based in Mexio City and also residental ambassador artist of Molotow™ Prague. He has a lot of powerfull collaborations with renowed brands and marks like:

Porsche, RedBull, LVFT (Livefit) USA, LatinLife carclub CA. Vanguard Prague, Top Threads (Los Angeles), Eleutheria Foundation.

His Letters journey has started during studies on a business college. After graduation, he moved to suburbs of Los Angeles, California, where he was a part of local urban culture, that has a huge impact on a major part of his work. During his stay in West Coast, where he was continuously coming back, he was always looking up to pioneers of the craft – Mighty Chaz Bojorquez, Retna, Defer, TheosOne. Since 2014 his production rapidly stepped up and he started to be consumed by his passion for letters fully.

The Craft

The symbiosis between Blackletter Calligraphy, Latin Cholo & Chicano scripts complements his visual communication, through his paintings.

His artworks mostly contain developed interpretations of characteristic letters called SMOKELETTERS. Which is a personalized blend of Traditional old English style from 12th century with WestCoast Cholo letters. The overall look is spiced by surface and color contrasts. Sometimes uses even contemporary, gestual, expressive, dynamic and deconstructed strokes, built up from individual letter characters, that are connected or followed between each other. Thanks to Dry-brush technique, There is a certain symbiosis between the shapes and the strokes that, when viewed from a distance, they convey one message yet, when viewed up close, more intricacies and nuances are revealed.

The meaning behind

He often uses parts of chosen song lyrics, quotes or encrypted and abstracted personal expressions of character traits. Adding organic symbols drived by emotions from everydays life and reactions on actual events in the world.

He is developing, experimenting and combining his style on daily basis, following his foundations and principles, to keep his signature style untouched and as much authentic as possible.

The Point

He lives to inspire others through his work. “Words are the breath of life. They inspire. They evoke emotions. They give us a goal that we can set our sites on. They give us focus, so we can achieve our dreams.

“Determination” “Passion” “Intensity” “Fire” “Excitement” If we want to have a greater impact in the world, we need to understand what drives us. And by focusing on strengthening our unique gifts, we improve daily. Which makes us more effective and thus fulfilled.” My unique gift is helping people understand who they are at their core. And by bringing their unique strengths to the surface, I can create a visual reminder to inspire them daily to keep working toward becoming the best version of themselves.

Our inner thoughts create our daily experience. What we focus our mind on becomes our reality. Therefore, it is critical that we focus on things that will improve our situation and build us up.

One word can convey so much…and it is unique to each individual. A single word can be a secret message to our inner selves telling us, “Keep going” or “This is why…”
